Skills Panda have the ‘IT’ factor
The Skills Panda Youth Initiative is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) accredited online program that equips the youth with technologically savvy skills needed to succeed.
POLOKWANE – Skills Panda puts strong emphasis on the word ‘opportunity’ to empower the youth by helping them develop skills in the IT field.
During a Capricorn District skills development event on July 27, Skills Panda awarded students with certificates for completing their courses.

The Skills Panda Youth Initiative is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) accredited online program that equips the youth with technologically savvy skills needed to succeed.
Over 2 000 students have registered since its inception in 2018 and they currently have over 500 students on the platform.
Head of learning operations Phutego Gama said the programme’s material can unlock doors to opportunities that are of interest to its students.
“The platform works through building an opportunity eco-system. By studying the content on the platform (ranging from accredited and unaccredited courses), points are earned in students’ virtual wallets,” he explained.
Virtual wallet credits can be exchanged for opportunities within the platform such as bursaries, learnerships, fixed-term employment and mentorships.
The initiative works with corporate and SETAs to prepare youths for high-tech and high-value careers.
All South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35, who have a National Senior Certificate are welcome to participate in the programme and people with disabilities are encouraged to sign up.
