LIMPOPO – A collision on the R37 near Podungwane, has claimed the life of one person while 14 others sustained injuries.
Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene confirmed the incident that occurred earlier this morning (July 29).
“It is reported that a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided head-on. Our traffic officials, police and emergency services are on the scene,” she explained.
Chuene said the driver of the bakkie was trapped in the vehicle, but was declared dead on the scene.
“Five people sustained moderate injuries, while nine others sustained minor injuries. They have been transported to nearby health facilities for medical attention,” she added.
Chuene told Review that the cause of the incident is yet to be determined. “We urge motorists to drive with caution at all times,” she concluded.
