Teen brothers arrested for murder outside Prakitiseer pub

An 18-year-old man's bloodied body was found next to the Mama She Is Pub with stab wounds on Monday (December 26).

LIMPOPO – Two brothers, aged 16 and 19 are expected to appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate Court on Wednesday (December 28) on a charge of murder following their arrest on Monday (December 26).

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo reports that the brothers allegedly stabbed and killed an 18-year-old man near a local pub in the Praktiseer area in the early hours of Monday morning.

Mojapelo says the police received a call about a bloodied body of an unknown man next to the Mama She Is Pub and on arrival, found the man with stab wounds.

“Local standby detectives managed to trace and apprehend the suspects within hours. The deceased was later identified as Thabo Mokwena from Shushumela, Praktiseer,” his statement read.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warned people against the abuse of alcohol as it has become a major contributor to the escalation of crime, especially contact crimes such as murders and assaults.
