Newly erected fences improve safety and security at Seshego schools

The newly erected fences at Khaiso High School and CM Sehlapelo Primary School were erected by Capricorn TVET College welding students as part of Mandela Day celebrations.

POLOKWANE – Six schools benefited as the Capricorn TVET College commemorated Mandela Day through acts of service to the community.

On July 18-19 the college management officially handed over the newly erected fences to Khaiso High School and CM Sehlapelo Primary School in Seshego Zone 3.

During the handover of the steel fence to CM Sehlapelo Primary School, the deputy principal of corporate services at Capricorn TVET College, Jane Moja explained this donation is to improve the security and safety measures by erecting new fences at the Senwabarwana and Polokwane campuses.

“The scope of that work included the removal of the old fence and erecting a high wire mesh fence. We received a request letter from CM Sehlapelo Primary School management requesting for the old steel fence and the request was forwarded to our council for approval,” she said.

The request was approved by the council in November last year and resolved that the college would also assist the school to erect the fence to ensure the donation serves its intended purpose.

The fence was erected by the college’s Seshego campus welding students supervised by a team of heads of departments and lecturers.

“As the college, we value stakeholder relations, so this donation serves part of our corporate social responsibility as it boosts the college to be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders and the public in large,” she added.

The good deeds extended to schools in Botlokwa and Senwabarwana where Mamothe Primary School and Sephala Primary School, as well as Bothanang Primary School and Ratanang Special School received school shoes to give to the learners.
