International recognition for Molatelo’s contribution to the youth

Molatelo Machaba received an award at the Founder of the Year Awards ceremony hosted in Nairobi, Kenya on June 30 for his contribution to youth development in the Vhembe district.

LIMPOPO – Molatelo Chrysilias Machaba (32) from Ha-Ravele has been awarded the Social Founder of the Year Award.

The award was handed out at the Founder of the Year Awards (Foya) ceremony that was held in Nairobi, Kenya on June 30.

Machaba was selected from some of the best young South African change and progress pioneers, and competed against youths from African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria.

His nomination is a result of the contribution he makes to develop the youth in the Vhembe district. He is the co-founder of Unlimited Youth Development, a non-profit organisation, that hosts the Miss Sinthumule/Kutama pageant and other annual events.

Machaba assists learners to identify their best school subjects, so that they make the right subject choices in Gr 10.

Through Unlimited Youth Development, he annually organises career expos for Gr 11-12 learners.

Machaba said that nothing pleases him more than to see the youth realise their dreams after he had encouraged, motivated and coached them. “I have so much appreciation for my community and all the members of Unlimited Youth Development,” he added.

Machaba encouraged young people to realise the importance of education and to put education first. He thanked his supporters who had voted for him and dedicated his award to them.
