POLOKWANE – The team at Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has provided an update on the stoppage at the Olifantspoort plant.

According to a statement by municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala, LNW said there is a pipe leak. “We need to cut and replace the pipe with another piece. The estimated time to completely scour and replace the three metre long pipe is 12 hours,” LNW told the municipality.

Selala noted that infrastructure challenges and load-shedding continue to impact negatively on supply to residents and businesses within the municipal area. “As of this morning, Ivydale, properties along Oost Street, Moregloed, Flora Park, upper parts of Serala View and Bendor, Chuene, Maja, Thokgwaneng and Seshego are not receiving water supply,” he explained.

Selala added that residents in Hoog, Thabo Mbeki and Webster streets, the lower parts of Fauna Park, Serala View and Bendor, as well as Nirvana, have low water supply.

“We once again urge those who receive supply to use water sparingly,” he concluded.
