Thabazimbi man arrested in connection with the murder of his wife

The man initially tried to mislead the police by alleging that his wife was killed while he was away from home.

LIMPOPO – A 55-year-old man will appear before the Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder following his arrest on Wednesday (June 22).

The man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 54-year-old wife on their plot outside Spitzkop on Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the suspect attempted to mislead the police by alleging that his wife was killed when he was not at home but had unexplained bruises and scratches on his body that indicated he might have committed the murder.

“The murder weapon was also recovered in the vicinity and the suspect was arrested after a thorough probe of the crime scene.”

The deceased has been identified as June Catherine Pautz.
