Cut-off low to cause a drop in temperature in Polokwane this week

While cut-off lows are associated with prolonged periods of rainfall, no rain has been forecast in Polokwane this week but partly cloudy conditions will persist.

POLOKWANE – A cut-off low will bring cool temperatures to Polokwane this week.

According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), cut-off lows are associated with widespread instability in the atmosphere which can promote periods of prolonged rainfall, however, no rain has been forecast for Polokwane.

People’s Weather’s forecast suggests a drop in temperature from Monday to Wednesday, as well as Saturday and Sunday with maximum temperatures in the teens.

Wednesday and Sunday will be the coldest days of the week at 16ºC, while Friday will be the warmest day of the week at 21ºC. Mimimum temperatures will remain in the single digits.

Partly cloudy conditions will persist with a 0% chance of rain forecast.
