POLOKWANE – A woman was declared dead on the scene of a collision on the N1 bypass near Mall of the North on Friday night (June 17).
According to a source on the scene, a bakkie tried to make an illegal u-turn and collided with a light motor vehicle in the process.
The vehicle was said to have been en-route to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe after purchasing the car in Midrand, Gauteng.
ER24 said medics and towing services responded to the scene and found one light motor vehicle in the middle of the road while the other car was on the side of the road.
The woman was trapped in the vehicle but had succumbed to numerous injuries.
Two men, the drivers of the vehicles were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries.
“The men were treated and later transported by another service to a nearby hospital,” ER24’s statement read.
