VIDEO – 14 learners among injured in collision on Nelson Mandela Drive

Polokwane Traffic spokesperson Kgaugelo Mphago said both drivers allege that they had right of way.

POLOKWANE – 14 learners from a local school were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision between a hatchback and minibus taxi on Nelson Mandela Road near Legae la Batho this morning (June 2).

Polokwane Traffic spokesperson and assistant superintendant Kgaugelo Mphago told the Polokwane Review that the learners were being transported to a school near Madiba Park when the collision happened.

“The driver of the minibus taxi sustained moderate injuries and was transported to hospital where he, the learners and the other driver will receive medical attention,” he said.

The cause of the accident is unknown and Mphago said both drivers allege that they had right of way.
