Power restored following mass outage in Polokwane

The failure occured just after 06:45, leaving several areas including Flora and Fauna Park, Thornhill, Bendor, Welgelegen, Magna Via and others without electricity.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said power has returned to all affected areas in the city following this morning’s mass outage.

The failure occured just after 06:45, leaving several areas including Flora and Fauna Park, Thornhill, Bendor, Welgelegen, Magna Via and others without electricity.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the outage was due to a fault that was located in one of the 66 kilovolt (kV) feeders to the Epsilon substation and not a blown substation as previous unconfirmed reports stated.
