WATER UPDATE: Pumping to Polokwane to resume – Muni

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said areas that have not received supply yet are urged to communicate promptly with their Ward Councillors to coordinate water tankers for them.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said it will continue to provide temporary relief of water supply through water tankers as some of the city’s taps remain dry.

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is working on restoring water supply to the city from the Olifantspoort line following a 24-hour shutdown on Tuesday (May 17) and a breakdown at pump station 3 on Wednesday (May 18).

“The latest update from LNW is that their challenges have been resolved and that they will be pumping water to Polokwane. However, it will still take some time before supply reaches all areas because the line is empty,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

He added that areas that have not received supply yet are urged to communicate promptly with their Ward Councillors to coordinate water tankers for them.
