Refinery give back to needy learners in Seshego

Learners from Phuti Ragophala's home education centre were given brand-new shoes, trousers, dresses, handbags and jewellery by Refinery Mall of the North.

POLOKWANE – Refinery Mall of the North donated clothing to underprivileged Information Technology and Coding learners at Phuti Ragophala’s home education centre in Seshego Zone 2 on May 7.

According to Ragophala, about 35 learners from her institution were given brand-new shoes, trousers, dresses, handbags and jewellery. Refinery store manager Lebogang Ranoto said they decided to reach out to the learners because their vision is to dress children and adults with their fresh contemporary style.

“We hope the gesture will encourage them to study further and have a better life in the future. We want them to study more and refrain from loitering in the streets and to stay away from crime.”

Ragophala said the donation will boost the morale of the learners and give them a sense of dignity.

“I provide information technology and coding lessons to various primary and secondary school learners in Seshego on weekends. The aim is to ensure these learners are technologically savvy before they reach tertiary institutions. The shop approached me after they saw my work online. Nothing beats your support and we thank you. We also ask other shops and entities to support the communities.”
