All roads lead home this Easter

Local maintenance man, Nkhangweni Masakona only gets to see his family once a month and looks forward to going home to see his family this Easter.

POLOKWANE – Nkhangweni Masakona is one of the millions of South Africans who will be travelling home to celebrate Easter.

Masakona is from Elim and works in Polokwane as a maintenance man.

He only gets to see his family once a month and holidays like Easter are an exciting time for him because his entire family gets together to celebrate.

“This is a special time because the only other chance that we have to come together as the whole family all at once is over Christmas,” he said.

Masakona added that because Easter means so much to the family, it is planned for months in advance.

This is to ensure that everything is covered in terms of finances and coordinating activities for the family.

“Everyone is prepared for the holiday so it makes the entire long weekend fun. It’s a happy time and we enjoy ourselves thoroughly,” he explained.

He added though that his family is not religious and rather use this time to spend as a family, it is an opportunity for them to regroup and rejuvenate as a family so that they return ready to take on the rest of the year.
