Here’s what to do in Polokwane this Easter weekend

Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, Mall of the North and The Ranch Resort have kids' entertainment sorted for the long weekend.

POLOKWANE – The Easter long weekend is upon us and there are a number of activities the little ones can take part in.

Meropa, Mall of the North and The Ranch have exciting Easter kids programmes lined up to keep boredom at bay.

Meropa

From Friday (April 15) to Monday (April 18), the younger ones can look forward to entertainment such as jumping castles, face painting, a daily egg hunt, and a cool Netflix room with popcorn and cold drinks.

Mom, dad and the grandparents are encouraged to pack away the pots and pans and instead take the family for a Easter Sunday buffet lunch at the Marimba Restaurant from 12:00–18:00.

“The scrumptious feast will include the likes of a bread display with a choice of cocktail rolls and hot cross buns. Enjoy a wholegrain mustard roast beef with rosemary jus and build your own salad with crisp lettuce, onion, carrot, tomato, feta, olives, cucumber, mixed peppers and dressings. Hop into the main dishes such as Cape Malay lamb curry with sweet peppers, coconut cream, coriander, sambals and poppadum’s’. A Cajun roast chicken thigh with a creamy mushroom sauce is another option to enjoy,” explains Sarah Anderson on behalf of Meropa.

She adds that mains come with a choice of sides that include baked spinach, feta and butternut cannelloni, a sage cream reduction, gratinated broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce or garlic and herb buttered baby potatoes.

“For something sweet, indulge in English sticky toffee pudding and custard, a duo of white and dark chocolate mousse, mini fruit and milk tartlets or ice cream and chocolate sauce. Adults pay R250 per person and kids aged between five and 11 pay half price.”

Mall of the North

From Friday (April 15), Tommy’s World Fair is in town with loads of activities available at the mall’s overflow parking area. There will be classic carnival games, face painting and popcorn for the whole family to enjoy.

Their Easter Bunny will also hop around the mall on Monday (April 18) to hand out chocolate eggs to the good boys and girls who visit the centre. “Be on the hunt, Bunny will be roaming around from 12:00 to 16:00.”
