VIDEO: Madiba Park residents gather to pray at incident-prone intersection

The mass prayer was organised by various stakeholders including the Seshego Against Crime and Gangsterism organisation, community pastors and Polokwane Traffic officials in response to the number of fatal incidents over the last month.

POLOKWANE – The Chief Commander of the Limpopo Chapelancy, Albert Masingi believes prayer is the solution to the number of fatal incidents at the Madiba Park intersection.

Several incidents have been reported in the last month and residents gathered this morning (April 13) for a mass prayer session.

The mass prayer was organised by community pastors and residents in the Madiba Park area.

Resident and community leader Peter Moutlana said the community came together to pray for the safety of motorists and residents in the area. “The number of accidents we have witnessed this week and month alone led us to trust in prayer in the hopes that it will help curb these incidents that leave many as orphans and widows.”

Pastor Elias Mashabela told the Polokwane Observer that the recent incidents have left residents in the area disturbed. “We have requested the relevant authorities to erect barriers along this road in the hopes that it will curb future fatalities.”
