Protest action in the area caused motorists to find alternative routes to and from Dendron this morning (April 7).

The Polokwane Review was told that the protest is due to a lack of service delivery in the area and among other things, being blocked from buying electricity as well as the overall state of the town’s roads and upkeep in the area.

POLOKWANE – Motorists are once again advised to use alternative routes when travelling to and from Dendron (Mogwadi) due to ongoing protest action in the area.

Residents were warned of the ongoing protest on local Facebook groups on Wednesday (April 6) as it moves into day two.

The post stated that both Dendron Primary and Secondary school’s would be closed and that no one would be able to enter or leave the area.

The Polokwane Review was told that the protest is due to a lack of service delivery in the area and among other things, being blocked from buying electricity as well as the overall state of the town’s roads and upkeep in the area.

Last month, residents in the area blocked the R521 with burning tyres and stones and threw stones at passing vehicles.
