POLOKWANE – With a glass of Baleia MCC bubbly in hand, guests enjoyed a journey to Asia on Thursday evening at yet another spectacular Wine and Dine event hosted at Basil’s Restaurant, The Ranch Resort.

Guests were in for a treat with Chef Daniel Gee and his team bringing the best of Asian Fusion to the table.

General manager, Paul Shearer, welcomed guests and thanked staff for their efforts and the guests for always supporting The Ranch Resort.

“We bring these evenings to Polokwane, to add some flavour to the city’s social calendar. Great food paired with great wine is the perfect recipe for an evening out with friends and family,” Shearer said.

The first of five delectable dishes, was the starter, salmon bao bun and panto prawn, infused broth, fried shallots, chilli and spring onion teased the tastebuds with a well paired Beleia Sauvignon Blanc.

Belia winemaker, Gunter Schultz took guests on a wine journey to the beautiful farm nestled in the stunning Riverdale.

“At Baleia the winemaking cycle begins with consistent attention to detail in the vineyards,” Schultz explained.

The next cultivars on the tasting menu were a Chardonnay, followed by a Pinor Noir, and guests ended the evening with Belia Vinhos Rochas, a blend consisting of Tempranillo and Syrah grapes.

Vibrant and juicy with great minerality indeed.

Coconut panna cotta, mango chilli salsa, candied ginger and a Thai Mai Tai cocktail ended the evening on a sweet note.
