Limpopo police arrest suspects for various crimes in Polokwane
Arrests were made in Bok Street, Ladanna and at a local day clinic for crimes ranging from assault on police to possession of an unlicensed firearm and housebreaking and theft.
POLOKWANE – The police in Limpopo have arrested 1 251 suspects between the ages of 18 and 48 for various crimes.
Among those crimes are several that were made in Polokwane.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo highlighted the arrests, adding that some of the suspects have already started appearing before magistrate’s courts for their crimes:
A 45-year-old man was arrested for assault on police and malicious damage to a state vehicle. Mojapelo said the man was arrested on Friday (April 1) in Bok Street.
Meanwhile, six suspects between the ages of 18 and 29 were also arrested on April 1 for attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms in Ladanna.
Mojapelo said members of the Westenburg police, the Limpopo Highway Patrol and the flying squad were on operational duties when they were alerted to a shooting in Ladanna.
“On arrival, two victims were shot at including a security guard. Six suspects driving a white sedan were arrested and two firearms were recovered during the arrest,” he said.
The third local arrest was made on Sunday (April 3) at a local clinic’s daycare unit.
Mojapelo said the arrest was made by members of the Limpopo Highway Patrol for housebreaking and theft and that stolen items were recovered.
“Police recovered various items during these operations which were conducted by various police units from March 28 to April 4. These items included 11 firearms, 60 knives, five stolen vehicle’s, large quantities of dagga, 44 dagga plants, sticks of counterfeit cigarettes, liquor, CAT, crystal meth and nyaope.”
