POLOKWANE – Moneri Charles Mashilo is a mixologist of choice.
The 34-year-old from Makgofe is making a name for himself on the social scene and is fast becoming the go-to guy to mix the perfect drinks at any social gathering. He is the owner of Moneri Cocktails and Mobile Bar Services.
He shared that he was a civil engineering student but decided to drop out of school and search for work to take care of his fatherhood responsibilities.

“I worked in the restaurant industry for some time and that was where my interest for mixing drinks developed,” he said. He worked at a number of restaurants over the years until 2017 when he decided to start his own mobile bar business. It was a year later that he was able to afford his own mobile bar.
“It is a complex business because drinks can make or break an event. It is important to get the combinations right because people want beautiful drinks that also taste good,” he added.
Mashilo added that the demand for cocktails is increasing and more people are opting for mobile bars because it gives variety to patrons at events.
His plan for the future is to one day own a big restaurant that specialises in drinks and great food. “My experience working in restaurants has equipped me with the right skills to make my own restaurant a success,” he added.
