POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said reservoir levels in the city are not improving and have encouraged residents to use as little water as possible to assist in the recovery of reservoir levels.

Municipal communications and marketing manager Matshidiso Mothapo on Saturday morning (March 12) said Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) have indicated that a combination of load-shedding at their plants and high demand are affecting supply and balancing of reservoirs.
Residents in the city have been left frustrated and angry at the constant lack of water supply.
“The municipality’s pump stations are also affected by load-shedding and while the municipality is working with LNW on the recovery of reservoir levels, water tankers will be assisting affected areas with water supply,” Mothapo said.
Most areas in the city have no supply, while others are receiving low pressure. Areas at a higher altitude like Bendor, Ster Park, Flora Park, Fauna Park, Serala View, Nirvana, Moregloed, Ivydale and the Extensions are the most affected.
Mothapo has urged residents who continue to receive uninterrupted water supply to use it sparingly.
