Power supply in Eduan Park expected to be restored tonight

Power in the area has been off since Wednesday (March 9) due to the explosion of an 11kV circuit breaker at the Gamma substation which casused extensive damage to the line that supplies Eduan Park. 

POLOKWANE – Power supply in Eduan Park is expected to be restored later this evening (March 11), municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

Power in the area has been off since Wednesday (March 9) due to the explosion of an 11kV circuit breaker at the Gamma substation which casused extensive damage to the line that supplies Eduan Park.

“The Polokwane Municipality’s maintenance team is hard at work to resolve the matter and is expecting to restore power supply to the area later this evening. All affected users in the Eduan Park area are advised to continue treating all electrical wiring as live during the repairs and switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored,” Selala said.

He added that an investigation conducted revealed that the explosion was caused by cable theft.
