Muni says water shortage is due to load-shedding at Ebenezer Plant

Areas receiving no supply include Ivydale, Nirvana, Hoog Street, Oost Street, Moregloed, corner Webster and Thabo Mbeki, Flora Park, upper Bendor, Sterpark and Serala View

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says several areas in the city are without water due to high demand and load-shedding at the Ebenezer Plant.

“Lepelle Nothern Water has indicated that the load-shedding is affecting the Ebenezer Plant resulting in a two-hour stoppage of water supply to Polokwane. Reservoirs in Polokwane are still struggling with levels being at their lowermost,” municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said.

Areas receiving no supply include Ivydale, Nirvana, Hoog Street, Oost Street, Moregloed, corner Webster and Thabo Mbeki, Flora Park, upper Bendor, Sterpark and Serala View, while areas experiencing low pressure include Magazyn Street, Fauna Park, lower Serala View, Sterpark and Bendor.

“While the municipality is working with Lepelle Northern Water on the recovery of reservoir levels, water tankers will be assisting affected areas with water supply and areas receiving supply are urged to use water sparingly to help in the recovery of reservoir levels,” Selala added.
