Cops apprehend drug dealer in Seshego

The 30-year-old man was found in possession of crystal meth and nyaope.

POLOKWANE – A 30-year-old man, said to be a foreign national, is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon.

The man was apprehended by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit and Crime Intelligence on Wednesday (February 16). 

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said in a statement that the man was arrested for dealing in drugs and the contravention of the Immigration Act 13 of 2002.

“Police received information about the man who was dealing in drugs in the Seshego vicinity and they executed an intelligence-driven operation. He was arrested in Seshego Extension 73 outside Polokwane,” Mojapelo said.

He explained that drugs worth an estimated R8 000 was found in the man’s possession at his rented house. “Sachets that contained crystal meth and nyaope, as well as a blender that had nyaope drugs in it, were confiscated,” Mojapelo added.

He said the additional charge for the contravention of the Immigration Act was added when police discovered the man was living in the country illegally.
