Two Polokwane businesses targeted by robbers

The two shops in the city were robbed between late last night and early this morning.

POLOKWANE –  Local authorities responded to two separate robberies between Thursday evening (February 3) and Friday morning (February 4). The robberies were committed at a gun shop and a sports equipment warehouse a few hours after each other.

The chairperson of the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Frans Swart, confirmed the two robberies took place in Polokwane.

Swart said the first incident took place at a warehouse where the suspects gained entry into the shop through the roof. “In the second incident, the suspects climbed over a wall to gain entry into the premises,” he said.

Swart added that no arrests were made in either incident. “The swift response of the police, security companies and the CPF ensured that not much was taken from both incidents. No arrests have been made and we plead with residents who have any valuable information to contact their local police stations.”

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo could not confirm the incidents by the time of publishing.
