CANCELLED: More planned power outages for Polokwane

The seven-hour power outage planned for Sunday (February 6) has been cancelled until further notice.

POLOKWANE – A large part of the Polokwane municipal area will be without power for seven hours on Sunday (February 6) not Sunday (January 30) as previously reported.

Municipal spokesperson Tipa Selala said in a statement that the outage is to allow the electrical teams to upgrade the system at the Gamma Substation located on Railway Street.

“The outage will be implemented between 05:00 and 12:00 and will affect parts of the Ladanna area and surroundings.”

Electricity supply shall be restored once the municipal team has completed the maintenance work, and all affected areas are advised to treat electrical wiring as live during maintenance work and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored. All users are urged to use electricity wisely,” he explained.

  • Enterprise and surrounding areas,
  • Game Centre,
  • Hoër Tegniese Skool (HTS) Tom Naude,
  • Hoërskool Pietersburg,
  • Industria,
  • Ladanna,
  • Lafarge Cement,
  • Lifestyle Centre,
  • Pietersburg Hospital,
  • Provincial Department of Health, and
  • SABC.
