According to police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, 53-year-old Monageng Solomon Ledwaba sat in his parked motor vehicle next to the traffic lights behind the Seshego Circle Centre when he was killed.

“An unknown number of assailants approached in a white Toyota Fortuner, without number plates, and shot him several times before they fled the scene. The motive behind incident is not known at this stage but taxi violence cannot be ruled out,” Mojapelo added and indicated that Ledwaba was the South African National Taxi Council Capricorn region chairperson.
