Residents raise money and stationery for learners in need

On January 22 people showed up in their numbers to support the Back-to-School Stationery Drive fundraiser at the Capricorn Racing Club.

POLOKWANE – Organiser Michelle Botha Albert has a soft spot for children and when she noticed that there is a need for stationery as the schools reopened, she couldn’t resist taking action.

Michelle started the Back-to-School Stationery Drive and roped in her friends, Kobus Kruger from Kwest, Martin Douglas from Martin’s Electronics, Juan Beeton from Limpopo Gates & Fencing and the Pietersburg Roadhogs to help make the drive a success.

The day was filled with fun as the guests took part in different activities that connected them to their inner child. People brought stationery donations as an entrance fee to the fundraiser.

“Thank you to everyone who assisted, especially the Pietersburg Roadhogs, who went above and beyond,” she said and added the fundraiser may be over, but they still continue to collect donations and anyone who would like to make a donation can contact Michelle on 083 346 5109 or Kobus on 083 635 1747.

Money donations can be made to Kruger’s FNB cheque account: 62821007673.
