Local SMME’s thrive on food delivery app

Crecias Shiburi (27) created the Dropin Kingsman food delivery app to give small, local businesses in Turfloop a platform to thrive and grow.

POLOKWANE – The Dropin Kingsman food delivery app gives small, local businesses in Turfloop a platform to thrive and grow.

The app is the brainchild of Crecias Shiburi (27) and received positive response from customers and businesses alike. Shiburi says he first had the idea in 2018, but only implemented operations in November 2021.

“I took my time with research before diving into operations because the market has many competitors and I knew I needed to stand out. The software developer finally completed the app last year and I was ready to roll it out to the community,” he tells BONUS.

Shiburi says Dropin Kingsman food delivery’s selling point is that they give smaller businesses, who are just starting out, a platform to make profit by offering delivery to their clients.

“This is what sets us apart, because unlike other food delivery services that focus on a wide range of businesses, our target is smaller businesses within Turfloop.

“We do, however, deliver from bigger restaurants that you would find on other food delivery apps,” he says.

Other than Dropin Kingsman food delivery app, Crecias runs a digital agency called WOPL, which he founded in 2016 and this inspired his move into the food delivery service space.

He aims to meet the target of 10 000 users on the app in a year from now before they can expand their services to other areas like Venda and Elim.
