POLOKWANE – Buoy Fly’s music is taking flight.

The 25-year-old musician from Flora Park’s real name is Koena Mabyana, and he recently released a new single From the dirt which is inspired by life experiences.

The song is his first single from his debut mixtape which will be released next year.

Buoy Fly has made steady growth in the music industry and he shared that he is destined for greatness.

He started out as a rapper, however, he has diversified and shown his musical range with his current work.

For the past year and a half he has worked on a solo project without collaborations because majority of his previous work had features.

“I am putting all my potential into this and I can’t wait to hear the final outcome,” he said.

He shared he has received tremendous support from his followers. Buoy Fly used to work to finance his music career but he shared that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he is currently unemployed.

The pandemic has been an eye opener and through it, he has learned the importance of having multiple streams of income.

Another lesson he has taken from music is that consistency is important.

“People need to be able to see and interact with the artist they show support to. I have also learned that you need to know how to stand up for yourself. Be ready to put in the hard work,” he said. His plan for the new year is to collaborate with brands, getting paid gigs and shooting enough video content.

His single is available on all streaming platforms.
