Moti kidnapping: Surprise interdict stuns police

Review has also obtained exclusive footage of one of the vehicles speeding down Thabo Mbeki Street. Watch the video and read the story here:

POLOKWANE – Details surrounding the Moti brothers’ kidnapping may possibly never be known.

Earlier this morning, it was learnt that the brother’s father has interdicted the SAPS from interviewing the boys or any member of the family.

This was confirmed to Review by police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda.

Netshiunda added that they have been informed that the family have since relocated to Dubai.

Zidan (7), Zayyad (11), Alaan (13) and Zia (15) were kidnapped on October 20 and the incident soon made national headlines.

More than three weeks later they were safely returned to their family, who at the time posted a statement to indicate that they would “speak to the media within a few days”.

The statement by Naazim and Shakira Moti was later removed.

Review has since obtained exclusive footage in which one of the vehicles can be seen in a high speed chase by Limpopo traffic officials down Thabo Mbeki Street on the day of the kidnapping.

Other images exclusively supplied to Review shows the car caught on CCTV footage driving in the city’s streets.

No arrests have been made yet and it is unclear whether or not police will appeal the interdict, as well as if investigations will continue.

Family spokesperson Keshia Patchiappen was contacted for comment but none was received by the time of publishing.
