4 family-friendly cocktails to sip on

Try these four delicious cocktails which can be made for the whole family.

Review spoke to cocktail master Rudzani Fambe, to help us make cocktails the whole family can enjoy, without making an unnecessary run to the shops.

Gin-infused Tonic:

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Cut the cucumber, strawberry and lemon into small slices.
  2. Wash the mint leaves
  3. Add the ice into a cocktail glass
  4. Add the gin
  5. Add the cucumber, strawberry and lemon slices
  6. Add the tonic water
  7. Garnish with mint

Use without gin for a non-alcoholic drink.

Powerade crushed lemon drink (for children)
Rudzani says this is an easy drink to make for children. Adding colourful straws will make it even prettier.

Ingredients:

  1. Mountain Blast flavoured Powerade
  2. Crushed ice
  3. Squeezed lemon or lime
  4. Strawberry for garnish

Method:

  1. Add the crushed ice and Powerade into a glass
  2. Squeeze in some of the lemon or lime
  3. Add strawberry for garnish

Mango Orange cocktail

A shot of alcohol can be added into the mango orange cocktail for an extra kick.

Perfect for those with a sweet tooth and can be made alcoholic or virgin.

Ingredients:

  1. 100% mango juice
  2. Orange juice cordial
  3. Strawberry or lemon for garnish

Method:

  1. Add the mango juice into a glass.
  2. Add the orange cordial juice.
  3. Wait for the orange juice to settle at the bottom.
  4. Add ice if preferred.
  5. Add garnish and a straw.

Homemade ice tea
Perfect for the hot summer days

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Make tea like usual and add lemon, orange or strawberry.
  2. Freeze overnight in a container.
  3. Take out of fridge an hour before use.
  4. Pour into glass and garnish as desired.
