One dead in R71 bypass crash

POLOKWANE – One person is dead after a vehicle crashed along the R71 bypass Dorp Street extension on Tuesday (December 22).

According to Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo the vehicle reportedly collided into a bridge pillar and thereafter caught fire.

Kgaugela Mphago, the spokesperson for the Polokwane Traffic Department, confirmed that one person died in a vehicle accident under the bridge. “The cause of the fire is still unknown and Polokwane SAPS is investigating,” he told Review.

Fire fighting and rescue services were also on the scene.
