POLOKWANE – Collaboration over competition was at the order of the day as the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa (Bwasa) Limpopo showed appreciation to local game changers.

A total of 63 women were nominated from across the province to be part of the circle of winners, which aimed to give recognition and celebrate women who are doing great things in their communities through business, public office and other institutions of critical importance in the lives of South Africans.

Ten winners were announced, but the chairperson of Bwasa Limpopo, Tshepo Mathabatha, added that the event was all about the celebration of 63 women from Limpopo who are selfless.

“It’s beautiful to know that there are people who brighten up the corners they live in,” she said. Mathabatha explained when she took office in 2019, she had one goal which was to prove women love each other.

“My journey over the past three years taught me that we don’t hate each other. We love each other, every woman sitting in this room was nominated by another woman,” she said. She urged the women to work together and build the economy and put collaboration over competition.

The keynote address was by Cecilia Molokwane, the president of Netball South Africa. She urged the guests to be bold in their pursuit of success and build their legacies.

“You’re not where you are by mistake, don’t be apologetic about your beauty, talent and success, be proud of it,” she said.
