‘More than enough for everyone’

Mall of the North marketing manager Mari Nel say their shops are prepared for the Black Friday craze.

POLOKWANE – Items that were in high demand on Black Friday last year were without a doubt electronics and clothing items.

Mall of the North marketing manager Mari Nel added that even with the high demand, no stores in the mall ran out of stock.

“Most of our stores plan in advance for Black Friday and they ensure that they have more than enough stock. Even the grocery stores do quite well on Black Friday as they have bulk specials on everyday items such as soft drinks that attract huge crowds,” she said.

She says the concept of Black Friday has now migrated to Black November and many stores have run specials since the beginning of the month in an effort to reduce traffic on Black Friday.

Store staff anticipate a huge turnout of shoppers this year, especially to the two local tekkie stores, namely Bathu and Drip that are expected to pull in crowds.

“Clothes always sell and for that reason, those stores will probably have a huge turnout and the stores are prepared for it.”

The mall’s operating hours on Black Friday will be from 08:00 on November 26.
