LIMPOPO – The police are investigating a case of arson after the house of well-known soccer player, Rodney Ramagalela was destroyed in a fire at Mamvuka village on Tuesday, November 16.
The Chippa United and former Black Leopards and Mamelodi Sundowns player, said he could not believe his eyes when he saw his eight-room house ablaze on photos people were sending to him.
“I was not at home at the time of the fire. My neighbours called me to inform me that my house was on fire. The neighbours told us that they had heard an explosion shortly before the fire broke out.
Law enforcement are investigating the matter and I await their outcome.
Luckily no one was injured in the fire, and we have only God to thank for protecting us,” Ramagalela said.
Everything inside the house had burnt to ashes, including furniture, clothes, personal documents, and a PSL trophy he received as top goal scorer.
The roof and walls were also damaged and Ramagalela estimates the total damage at R1 million.
“I am appealing to good Samaritans to assist me. What I want is to have a roof over my head,” he said.
