PCS donates much-needed items to SPCA

Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS) donated canned and dry animal food through their social outreach programme

POLOKWANE – Pietersburg Comprehensive School (PCS) donated canned and dry animal food valued at R6 000 to the local SPCA on November 15 through their social outreach programme.

According to teacher Bonnie Pretorius, the learners and their parents started to collect the items since the beginning of October. “Each learner was requested to buy at least one item and many were able to procure more. Thank you to the learners and their parents for the wonderful gesture. It was a collective effort and their contribution will make a huge difference at the SPCA.”

Principal Rudi Fick said through this initiative, learners were able to learn the value of giving. “The SPCA is a non-profit organisation and it was good to see our learners display acts of kindness and willingness to give.”

Kennel supervisor Vincent Avian said they appreciate the gesture by PCS as they will be able to feed more animals at the centre.
