Planned power outage to affect multiple suburbs in Polokwane

Multiple areas in the city will be without power supply for more than six hours due to upgrades that will be conducted at the Gamma substation.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality’s Spokesperson, Thipa Selala, informed residents and businesses of a planned electricity supply interruption, which has been scheduled from Sunday (November 21) from 05:30 0 12:00.

“The power outage is to allow for upgrades to be conducted at the Gamma substation,” Selala said.

He said power supply shall be restored once the Energy Services team has completed the work.

“All affected areas are advised to treat electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances during the downtime, to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored,” Selala added.
