Noorderland recognises hardworking learners

Hoërskool Noorderland principal Thabo Ratema praised the learners who received various awards of excellence at the school awards ceremony recently.

POLOKWANE – The school recognised learners who performed exceptionally well in arts, culture, sport and academic activities throughout the year. Ratema believes the learners who won the awards will motivate other learners to follow in their footsteps. He also added their endeavors will help the school to achieve a 100% matric pass rate this year.

“They worked hard and their achievements will motivate other learners at the school. We encourage them to continue working hard and strive for excellence.”

Gr 12 learner Sphiwe Kokeka is this year’s Dux learner.

Gr 12 learner Sphiwe Kokeka was bestowed with the Dux learner award. Kokela represented the school in the national accounting Olympiad and received an outstanding award as most disciplined learner.

She has the highest average and is number one on the school’s top 10 list with an average of 93.8%. She received distinctions in accounting, Sepedi, life orientation, life sciences, English and mathematics.

She walked away with a laptop sponsored by principal Ratema and a R500 cash prize. Gr 11 learner, Mantswi Ramakgolo took the best overall learner in arts and culture award. Ramakgolo represented the school at the national debating competition and published a short story book.
