100% votes counted: ANC takes Limpopo

LIMPOPO – On Thursday afternoon the ANC leads the provincial vote count with 68.27%, followed by EFF with 14.27% and DA with 5.45%.

With 100% of the total votes that have been captured the ANC has thus far secured 787 seats, the EFF 168 seats and the DA 65 seats.

The Independent Electoral Commission’s provincial electoral officer, Nkaro Mateta earlier announced that voter turnout in the province stood at 46.3%. According to Mateta the low voter turnout is a multifaceted phenomenon influenced by various factors such as disruptions to services, levels of trust in political institutions and unwarranted attacks on the commission.

The final results are expected to be announced later this evening. Here are the updated results for Limpopo and Polokwane in the 2021 Local Government Elections – Day 3.
