[LISTEN] Long weekend fatalities rise to 15

The Transport Department has urged motorists to adhere to the rules of the road.

LIMPOPO – Transport MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has sent her condolences to the families of those killed in this afternoon’s horror crash on the N1.

Seven people were killed after a sedan and a minibus collided at Oorlogfontein outside Mokopane. 

Departmental media liaison officer Mike Maringa said the seven deaths brought the total fatalities on Limpopo’s roads this weekend to 15.

“It is suspected that one of the drivers lost control of their vehicles and drove into oncoming traffic. Six occupants were in the sedan and the kombi driver was alone in his vehicle.”

Maringa once again urged motorists to travel with caution and reduce their speed.
