Why go shopping when the shopping can come to you?

Jackson Ruchiyo, one of the founders of the online grocery shopping website promises his clients an affordable and reliable experience.

The question spurred the concept behind Burleydale Deliveries, an online grocery shop and delivery service. Burleydale Deliveries was founded by Jackson Ruchiyo, who resides in Flora Park, and Rekgopetse Pula, who currently lives in Cape Town.

With this business they want to bring convenience and affordability to their clients.

Ruchiyo worked in Germany for two years and returned to South Africa recently.

He explained that although he was grateful for the opportunity to work abroad, he needed something that was more exciting than a nine-to-five job. He and Pula saw the gap in the market during lockdown last year, and in the beginning of 2021 he started to develop the website after work and planned his exit from the company he worked for.

“When the website was ready and fully functional, I came back to the country. We are now operating and I am happy with the progress. I am confident in it because I came back to make sure that I am part of the day-to-day running of the business,” he said.

According to Ruchiyo, what sets Burleydale Deliveries apart from the rest of the online shopping and delivery services is that they have their own stock, and do not act as a middleman for any retail shop. “Our delivery service is 100% free and we deliver within three to five hours,” he said.

They take orders through calls and via WhatsApp on 079 810 4339 as well as on their website: www.burleydale.com.
