Man robbed at gunpoint at Ladanna centre

The assailants hit the man over the head with a firearm before they climbed into a vehicle and drove off.  

POLOKWANE – A man in his 30s was left bleeding from the head after he was accosted by two men at a business centre in Ladanna.

The incident happened at around 12:20 on Thursday (October 28) while the victim was standing outside the building talking on his cellphone, said Westenburg station commander, Lt Col Maimele Pilusa.

“It is alleged the 35-year-old was approached by two men, one armed, who accused him of being a drug dealer. During the incident a fight broke out and the victim was punched,” Pilua explained.

One of the assailants thereafter hit him over the head using the said firearm before they robbed him of his cellphone, an undisclosed amount of money and a rucksack with.

Other items in his possession were also taken, he added.

“The suspects thereafter climbed into a white hatchback vehicle and fled the scene.”
