LIMPOPO: Unidentified woman’s body found under bridge
The gruesome discovery was made by a passerby who was walking alongside the R578 road.
LIMPOPO – The body of an unidentified woman was discovered near the Klein Letaba river under a bridge and the police appeal to anyone who can identify the woman to contact them immediately.
The body was discovered on Sunday evening at around 18:00 along the R578 road between Dengeza and Babangu Village. Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said a passerby made the gruesome discovery and alerted the police to the incident.
“The police arrived on the scene to find the woman lying in a pool of blood. An Emergency Response Unit was called and the victim was certified dead on the scene.”
He added that the deceased had on a pair of pink trousers and black shoes (Cavella) wrapped in a red T-shirt were found next to her body.
“The motive for the killing is not known at this stage but gender-based violence and/or domestic violence has not been ruled out.”
