Limpopo aims for 80% matric pass

Limpopo Premier Chupu Mathabatha has sent best wishes to the matric class of 2021 saying he has no doubt in his mind they will make the province proud.

LIMPOPO – 106 564 full-time and 35 596 part-time candidates in the province will write their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, with the majority beginning today with English Paper One.

Limpopo Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha wished the learners good luck and said that despite the disturbances imposed by Covid-19 pandemic, he has no doubt that the class of 2021 will make the province proud.

He added that the province has set a target of 80% pass rate for the year 2021.

“I know that you are a team made of resilient conquerors. Limpopo is looking upon you to make it proud,” Mathabatha said.

Education spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene earlier told Review that it is all system go and the province is ready to host the examinations.

“We are ready to deliver a credible exam and we encourage learners to be mindful of the code of conduct and the pledge that all candidates were expected to sign in order to commit themselves to credible conduct during the examination.”
