[IN PICTURES] Artists flock to Limpopo Music Awards 2021

The Limpopo Music Awards 2021 (LIMA21), supported by South African Music and Performing Rights Association (SAMRA) was held on October 16 at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.

POLOKWANE – The LIMA21 event was graced by esteemed guests such as Polokwane Mayor John Mpe, as well as the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture representative Michal Moatshe, who emphasised the importance to support the arts and that the LIMAs are a great help in this regard.

The theme of LIMA21 was ‘Fashion Extravaganza’ and attendees were given an opportunity to show off their outfits on the black carpet and they were encouraged to use local designers for their outfits to empower the local economy.

LIMA21 PR and marketing manager Mapaseka Pakgadi said it is important to note that they have seen national artists nominated in four categories and lost all of them to upcoming artists due to a lack of engagement on the voting system. “This happened to Sho Majozi in the past. It is important for artists to motivate their fans to vote for them to avoid any disappointments. It is a reminder to all artists that the fortunate favours the prepared. So let’s continue to work and push for those votes year on year.”
