Bokang donates boxes full of smiles

Miss Limpopo Province 2022 semi finalist, Bokang Mojela (9) wants to help those who are not as fortunate as she is.

POLOKWANE – Bokang Mojela (9) realised at an early age how important a smile is.

She is a model at ACE Models Limpopo and a semi finalist of the Miss Limpopo Province 2022, as well as a Gr 4 learner at Prenora Primary school in Seshego.

Bokang decided to put smiles on the faces of the children who are not as fortunate as she is. “I realised most of the children in our villages only receive one gift a year or maybe nothing. To me a child’s smile is worth more than all the money in the world and that is why I decided to put a smile on their faces and give them a box full of goodies.”

These goodies include snacks, noodles, toiletries and fruits. She plans to partner with a shelter to help them with needed items if she wins the pageant.

“I would also like to start my own foundation where I will help children with reading and writing and supply them with stationery. I realised that most children my age and younger do not know how to read and that kills their confidence.”

Bokang chose to donate to the Lutheran Church Sunday School at Sengatane village just outside Polokwane as the church supports every pageant she participates in and she wants to inspire them.

“In a world where almost all humans become victims of materialism, children still need love. My actions will prove that love exists, and it also shows that to give back in any way gives humanity hope. The smiles on the children’s faces when they finally opened their boxes, which was made with love, made the hours I spent scratching my head of what to put inside and the shopping and the late-night box wrapping sessions all worth it.”
