ATM bombings: Limpopo police call on man to assist with investigations

The police believe Syco Mashifane can assist with ongoing investigations into the recent spate of ATM bombings in the province.

LIMPOPO – Provincial police have called on 46-year-old Syco Mashifane to avail himself at the nearest police station in order to assist with ongoing investigations into a chain of ATM bombings in the province.

A spate of ATM bombings have been reported in the Sekhukhune district since January to date and ongoing investigations have revealed that 46-year-old Syco Mashifane can assist the police with information about the people involved, said police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.

He added that Mashifane is a resident of Maserumule Park in Sekhukhune, but it is believed he is currently in Mamelodi in Gauteng.

“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects involved or who knows the whereabouts of Mashifane, can contact Det Sgt Phaladi Makola on 082 749 2233 or Lt Col Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501.”

Alternatively they can contact the 24-hour Crime Stop number on 086 001 0111 or their nearest police station.

Mojapleo said that callers may opt to remain anonymous and any information received will be treated with strict confidentiality. 

Police investigations into these crimes still continue.
