Police appeal for information into Superbia incident

The body of a man was discovered in Nikkel Street, Superbia on Tuesday (September 28).

POLOKWANE – The police in Westenburg are investigating the murder of an unknown man whose body was found in Nikkel Street earlier this afternoon.

Westenburg station commander Col Maimele Pilusa confirmed to Review that the police have opened a case of murder. He appealed to anyone who has information about this incident to contact the investigating officer Det Rasedile on 082 565 8566.

POLOKWANE – The police are currently on the scene of a suspected mob justice incident in Superbia.

This after authorities were alerted to the discovery of a man’s body in Nikkel Street between Nelson Mandela Drive and Grobler Street.

Nikkel Street is currently blocked off and motorists are advised to use alternative routes were possible. This is a developing story.

This is the second incident of this nature in the city.

On Monday (August 30) a man was assaulted and set alight in Industria Street after he was accused of murdering Polokwane resident Maupa Mafa (30).

Mafa was attacked and stabbed on August 28. According to earlier reports he was walking from a tavern in Kruger Street with four of his friends when a man emerged and started fighting with them in the vicinity of Genl Maritz Street. In the process he made his way to the Sasol Bendor fuel station to seek assistance where he collapsed. He was certified dead on the scene.

Police investigations into both incidents still continue.
