SASSA SRD grant collection ‘more convenient, safer’

Approved recipients will be able to collect their payments from a Pick n Pay or Boxer store near them. Here is the step-by-step collection process:

LIMPOPO – The South African Post Office (SAPO) has announced that approved recipients of the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant can from tomorrow collect their payment at a local Pick n Pay or Boxer store.

The new initiative will be implemented from Wednesday (September 22) and is only available to those grant receipts who have received an SMS from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) confirming their collection payout point as either Pick n Pay or Boxer.

BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing and Pick n Pay Liquor stores are excluded in this offering.

SAPO reminded residents that the said stores do not manage the application and approval of grant funds, or when and where collections can be made. The process is run entirely by Postbank, the service said.

According to Pick n Pay’s Head of Omnichannel, John Bradshaw, the group is proud to assist grant beneficiaries access their payments more conveniently and safely, ensuring they receive much-needed relief quicker than before.
